Who do you serve?

Before we can get into exposing lies, there is an important biblical concept that needs to be understood.

There are only two spiritual kingdoms, and both have influence in our world and in our lives.

Revelations 12:7-9 and War broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who was called the devil and satan, the deceiver of the whole world – he was thrown down to earth and his angels were thrown down with him.

God not only created Earth and humans, He also created heaven and angels. At some point, the angel lucifer got together a team of angels on his side and tried to force his way into sitting on the throne of heaven, exalted above God.

Clearly, he did not succeed.The result of this battle would be especially significant for us humans. See, what had been only one unified kingdom before, suddenly became 2. Now there’s the kingdom of darkness, and the kingdom of light.

Furthermore, when Adam and Eve disobeyed God by receiving the deception of satan, 4 things happened just as suddenly.

1.) Man lost the dominion of the earth that God gave him, and satan took over.
2.) sin, death and disease entered the world.
3.) sin in the world caused an immediate separation between us and God
4.) Sin became part of our bloodline

From then on, every human would be born with a sin nature, and would belong to the kingdom of darkness until of age when they can choose Jesus Christ as Lord.

Colossians 1:13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the son of his love in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Often times, christians refer to themselves as being ‘Saved’. This is why! When we ask God to forgive our sins and we dedicate our lives to Him, we are transferred out of the kingdom of darkness that we were born into, and we become citizens of the Kingdom of heaven! Death and the powers of sin no longer have control in our lives unless we let them!

Why is all of this so important??

Matthew 6:24
No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

It’s important you understand that you are free from the powers of darkness. You belong to the kingdom of light now. That’s an amazing thing. It’s also a very clear warning. You Can Not serve two masters! To be truly free in This kingdom, you must let go of All things that belong to the other kingdom! There is no way around it. God does not walk where there is sin.

It’s equally important for you to understand that there are only 2 kingdoms influencing Your life. If something is not of God, then it is of darkness. If something is not of darkness, then it is of God.

That will be the key to decerning truth from lies.
