Homosexuality IS sin

Deception, the act of convincing others of untrue information.

How do we keep from being deceived? We confront each lie, and examine them under the light of the Word of God.

#1. the Born This Way lie

This starts with thinking “I’ve always been this way, for as far back as I can remember, I didn’t choose it, it’s just who I am”.

The demonic keep whole populations of people oppressed by convincing them they do not have a choice but to sin, and then to get them to blame either God ( He created me this way) or themselves ( I’m just messed up), instead of seeing things in a spiritual sense. It’s not just homosexuals. It’s addicts, alcoholics, really anyone who believes they inherited something that has them trapped. As long as you believe you have no control, you will remain chained and never even attempt to be free.

2 Timothy 2:26
and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

While it is true that we are each born with a sin nature, it is our individual environments and experiences that allow certain things to take root in our lives. These things are known as open doors, where the demonic have legally walked in at some point and built a place to dwell and torment. Sometimes these open doors may have been completely out of your control, like abuse or neglect. Other times it’s past choices like tarot reading, experimenting with witchcraft, or even watching pornography at a young age. We have all had open doors.

The lie is not that you did or didn’t choose who you are attracted to. The lie is that you are stuck that way, that it is who you are and you can’t be different.

The deception is that those attractions are part of you. They are not part of you!

The truth is no one is “stuck” in sin. God is so much bigger than that!

#2. the God Is Ok With It lie

No, He is not! Often times this lie is accompanied by  justifications like ‘man wrote the Bible’ or ‘the parts about being gay are only in the old testament’.

These statements are false. The bible is written by God, through man. Homosexuality is forbidden in every part of God’s word.

Romans 1:26-27
For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

We are all created to be in relationship with God, it’s the only way honest joy is found. Our spirits crave it! Without that relationship, you spend your life searching, trying desperately to find joy, and only knowing struggle. Everything not of God Is sin, so if you aren’t living out the will of God, everything you grasp onto just trying to be happy is in fact sin.

It’s entirely possible to love God with all your heart, and still be bound to sin. The real relationship begins when you let the Holy Spirit fill you, correct you and guide you. You can’t serve two masters. As long as you are satisfying your flesh, you are not living for God.

The lie is that you are ok where you are at. The deception is that God doesn’t have so much more for you!

The truth is, if you refuse to call something sin, you will never be free of it.  God wants you to be free.

# 3. the God Could Never Love Someone Like Me lie

Sadly, this lie most often began while someone sat in a church pew, listening to a leader or member teach what they believed about sin, instead of what God says.

Scripture after scripture will tell you this is absolutely not true. God calls us His People. We belong to Him. Whatever your struggle, you are not your sin. All you have to do is lay down your sin and follow Jesus and you are part of the kingdom of heaven.

2 Chronicles 7:14
if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

The problem is, not everyone defines love the same. The love of a best friend is not the same as the love of a parent. The way you love your child is not the same as the way you love your sibling. Love your neighbor does not mean accept them for who they are. Whom God loves, He corrects. So often, we want a God that lets us do as we please. We are children, wondering why our parent won’t let us have cake for breakfast. We are too spiritually immature to realize being told no Is love.

That you are too messed up for God to love is a lie from the pit of hell! If you take nothing else from this site, please put that in your heart.

The truth is, God is waiting for you to come to Him and tell Him that you are done with living for yourself, that all you want is Him.

It’s not God’s love that is in question, it’s ours.

Do we love God enough to obey Him? Do we love Him and want eternity with Him more than we want to fulfill our own fleshly desires?

If your answer is yes, then tell the enemy you see his lies, and you refuse to believe him any more!
