Where does sin get it’s power?

We’ve established that homosexuality is in fact sin, and confronted the lies of the enemy. Now we have to break its hold on your life.

One kingdom, one creator. The kingdoms split into two, but that did not change that all spiritual beings in both kingdoms are created by the same King. Light and dark, Godly and ungodly, Holy and demonic. All of creation is held to the laws and boundaries of God. No demon can oppress somone if they are not given a legal right to do so. Also, our authority in Christ can not rebuke a demon from someone who has invited the domonic into their life or home.

In other words, the demonic get their right to torture and influence each of our lives from Us! The times we have given them access or taken part in the activities that belong to the ungodly kingdom, like homosexuality, must be undone.

This is a two part process called Repent and Renounce, where you must acknowledge where you’ve done wrong, apologize to God, and then decide with a sincere heart that you will not do that thing again.

Even though we each repented and were forgiven of all sin when we asked Jesus into our heart, this is slightly different. To be set free of demonic oppression, you must revoke the enemys legal right to be there. When we repent of specific things, and we state out loud that we are absolutely done with those things, we are saying “you no longer have a foot hold here”. This is called coming out of agreement. Come out of agreement with sexual immorrality. Come out of agreement with rebellion against the Will of God. Come out of agreement with homosexuality.

State out loud that you are a child of God, a son or daughter of the Most High. No longer are you a slave to your feelings, no longer will you let your flesh make the decisions in your life.

Begin naming specific events, whatever comes to mind, and say out loud both the event or thought, and speak that it no longer has power over you.

For instance, if you keep remembering the first time you kissed someone of the same sex, repent of that moment with a sincere heart. Tell God how sorry you are you did that, and then renounce that act ever having power over you again. When you do this, Jesus says ‘I will take that for you, I have paid for that sin, that chain is gone’.

Revelation 3:19-20
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

Repent and Renounce anything in your life that has kept you bound and imprisoned up until this point. You are not that person any more, you are who God says you are now, and the moment you truly believe that with all of your heart, that’s the moment the enemy loses power over you.

One major open door to be sure to close is unforgiveness. We must forgive everyone, just as Jesus forgave us, freely and with no hesitation. Unforgiveness in your heart will cause you to struggle all throughout your life and your walk with The Lord. It will continue to give place to the work of the demonic in your life, as long as it’s in your heart.

Mark 11:25
And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.

I can only explain how to do this the way I myself learned it. Close your eyes, picture Christ up on the cross, the look in His eyes so full of love as He looks back at you. Reach out and touch the blood running down His leg. Hear Him say your sins are forgiven. Now take that blood on your finger, and picture yourself placing it in the forehead of anyone who has hurt you, name them out loud and tell them you forgive them of all wrong doing against you. Even if it’s someone who violated you or abused you, forgive them! You are safe in the blood of Christ. You can let it go now.  They can no longer harm you.

This is called a process for a reason. It can be lengthy, it can take days. Dont be intimidated by that. Ask God to walk through your life, through your heart, and through your home, and remove anything that isn’t from Him. As things are brought to your attention, just keep calling them out, repenting and renouncing. The weight and heaviness you’ve known for so long will begin to lift off of you. The love of God will flow in deeper and deeper.

When we surrender our will and let God really have everything, it’s then that we can begin to really comprehend who God is, and how much He really does loves us.

Let Him create in you a truly clean heart. Let God free you.
